Hi, my PC is nearly three years old now, running with a 19" Viewsonic. I'm considering getting a 22" widescreen monitor such as the Samsung SM-2232BW:

The problem is I plan to upgrade my PC components too but can't afford that + new monitor just yet. My system has an AMD A64 3200+, 1GB of ram and a Powercolor Ati x800 XL 256mb card. I was wondering if my gfx card would handle general Windows stuff, Photoshop and watching videos on such a large monitor? If possible I'd also like to run some of my older games on it (Such as CoH and CS:S, which I currently set to 1280x1024 or 1024x768), at least until I can upgrade the actual system for newer games. Would that work if I run them in a window or at those lower resolutions etc?
I can't play an new games with this old gfx card anyway so I'm not bothered about trying to do that, I'd just like more room for web browsing and photoshop...
Am I hoping for too much? Should I just wait until I can upgrade the whole system so it could cope with a larger screen?
Any help appreciated, thanks.
