220,000 ps3's for uk launch

I reckon it will go down! :-) if not though its not a bad number but it hasn't been as popular as expected elsewhere has it so re-stocks may not be as regular as they anticipated abroad?

With these figures I would still feel confident of walking into a shop on release day and picking 1 up without a pre-order. Not that I'm going to at the current price however.

I hope you can just buy one of the shelf at will and all the people who have orderd extra ones to make a profit on get stuck with them and have to sell them at a loss or atleast lose there deposits

In an ideal world. That's not going to happen though.

First heard of 300k and now, 220k?

The number must be getting lower toward the launch date! :D

300k was just an estimate, as there are 1 million for EU and the UK makes up about 30% of the market or something. In fact, this figure isn't official wither, just another estimate.

Wont happen, I will put both mine when confirmed on the bay to be delivered after launch day. Panic will sell them for me. Fear of not getting one will sell them for me.

Whats hope got to do with it. Whats the worst that can happen. Its not like I'm going to be stuck with two ps3's and lose money. I wont lose a penny.

Its a win win situation, I cannot lose.

I think there will be a lot of profiteers getting their finger burnt tbh. When it was the odd few people pre-ordering and putting the consoles up for auction they would make a killing. The problem now is that every man and his dog knows about this and wants to earn some quick dosh so the bay will get flooded with PS3's for sale and there will be minimum profit to be made. I actually ended up getting a Wii of the bay for £250 which is only about £60 markup and that was in really short supply - you're not going to double your money like in days of old.
