220v - 50Hz appliance on UK 240v

Using a travel adaptor will 220v appliance be okay to run on our 240v UK mains voltage?

The item in question is a rice cooker.

Uk voltage does go up and down from property to property.

Yes it's fine. UK voltage has been dropped to 230V so as not to overload some 220V appliances which apparently couldn't take it.

From what I remember the UK still is at 240V. It is now stated as 230V as this is stanard across the EU but with tolerences of +/- 10% so that existing systems needed no modification.
