226bw xbox 360 help

Hi guys,

got my 226bw this morning and i'm very pleased with the picture so far on my pc,

Hooked it up vga to the 360 and i cant get a decent picture at all.

all looks washed out and not sharp, all the text seems to have a small ghosting effect on it.ie all the white text when you start up cod4 is out of focus.

So a couple of questions

whats the best res to run the 360 at?

and do i use any of the magictune settings etc or manually set it up.

If somebody with this screen has a good pic with the 360 , coulc you tell me your settings please

What is the make of the VGA cable you are using?

I have the MS vga cable and it was perfect from the moment I plugged it in.

Same screen as well.

hmm its the mad catz one i think, although its fine on my 4 year old hitachi 17" tft

1360 x 768 - widescreen

Looks perfect, I have heard of the none MS VGA cables being pretty crappy.

I would recommend getting the official cable, I've recently replaced mine with the MS one and it looks a lot better (Was having problems just like you described). Although using the cheaper one of my brothers smaller monitor doesn't look as bad as it did on my 24".

If you go into the options and change the Reference Levels (in the display options) to expanded that should help out.
