Friend of mine has one for sale, in his garage. Unfortunately he doesnt really know what he has a hold of, so i said id help him sell it if i can.

Body work is mint, its got 58k miles on it and is one of the 16 UK 22b's.

As far as i know, its got a full service history etc, tax and mot. I checked the oil pressure at cold idle and it was a strong 6kg/m (think thats good, not the really well up on my subarus :p)

Im going to take it out this evening to see how it drives, check for knocks etc. is there anything i should look out for? Obviously need to check if its boosting correctly etc.

Tried ringing Will but think i have your wrong number!!

thanks :)

Where will you be driving it? Will you be stopping for petrol? At what stations will you be stopping?

;)

lol, just local, probably only a 10min drive :p and no, unless he is paying i aint stopping for fuel, the R is bad enough :D

How the hell did he get hold of a Type UK if he doesn't know what it is?

Sat in his garage :(

garage = showroom.

sorry, should have worded it better.

I was just passing and went in to see him, and noticed it looked different from the back than normal classics - WIDEEEE so took a closer look.

UK model Type UK 22b. MINT too, body and inside are awesome.

he is, but the reason i offered to help is id rather it went into an enthusiasts hand instead of someone with too much money and watch it get wrapped around a tree. (we have a lot like that around here).

Which one is it? There is only one at a regular garage and really oddly it has the same reg number as another from a different garage.

Does he know the same car is for sale from another dealer for an extra £4000?

Thats the car I was talking about when I said 2 from different dealers same car..

I can't remember who on Scoobynet used to own T22 TUK.

Good price really if he wants it gone. He could ask more but how long does he want it sat around. If he's into more exotic cars maybe he just wants shot of it. You'd need to see what history it had with it.

If theres 1 MOT and a fuel bill its not worth very much. If theres paperwork similar to that of a US murder trial then its worth a lot more.

Even a 22B is just the same as any other Impreza and an Impreza is no different to any other car so just look for things you would normally look for. If you fiddle with DCCD, don't put it on "LOCK" and then try and make tight turns - it'll hop and jump and make horrible noises (centre diff being locked) I did it once testing a Type R and thought I'd killed it. And yes, DCCD can be altered whilst moving it won't hurt it. Just watch its bottom if its fully open ;)

AFAIK they have the same induction/MAF issues but I dare say it will have been mapped at some point - again I can't remember who had it before.

thanks Edd.

And no Fox, i didnt, and i dont know if he does. Ill ask.

edit: he knows, thats where he got it from in another deal.

I really cannot see how that car justifies it price, choice out of a new one of a 22b is a no brainer IMO I would have a new one. Yes its limited in numbers etc, but it does not look much different from riced up ones you see all the time.

I dont think its possible for you to have missed the point any further than you have. The 22b is not about how it looks, it's about the way it drivers.

Until the Spec C, nothing came close in Impreza/Evo land.

On your own rally track? That sort of car cannot be enjoyed to the max on our roads without breaking the speed limit as well as being stuck behind someone on a b roads. If you live on the isle of man then perfect. Still stand by my point not worth the money its got 50k as well on the clock!

I think a R33 GTR would be a good match and be just as good IMO (if they are classed in the same line up?)
