are these all equal? do i just pick the one i like the look/price of best? or is there more to it than that? anything i should be avoiding? i'm looking at the real el cheapo options.... :o and TN isn't a problem for me. i've been more than happy for over 2years with my 19in TN screen - i just want something bigger now. :)

hey, thanks for replying. tis a shame most of the monitors i'm looking at aren't in that review...... :o

i'm buying locally () which limits my options somewhat. i just need to get out and take a look and see if there are any that look nice in the flesh. i recently saw the HP 22in which looks very nice but is out of my price range. i might consider the 20in though. :)

bear in mind when you look at them they are not always configured correctly or have optimised colours configured.

good luck :)

well i've been out and bought the cheapest thing i could find. :o :p i didn't have as much money as i thought i would after the weekend. got a viewsonic va2216w for 140 sheets. and i'm happy enough with it. the extra resolution in windows is great. there are no dead pixels and no obvious backlight bleed. the only real down side is the vertical viewing angles. with a white background it's very noticeable if you're not looking exactly dead on.
