22nd July Price Drop

Just a quick question, I realise that the prices for 22nd have already been posted by overclockers here, for the drop in intel processors, but are intel reducing the price of any of there other products, like motherboards? :confused:

Sorry for hijacking your thread somewhat, but it saves making a new one.

But anyway, will the prices be dropped on that exact date, or will they be slowly dropped thereafter the date (over a period of a few days).

Because I was hoping to buy my new rig a week today (the 23rd, like most people probably will be too) and I wanted to make sure that the prices have dropped by then (and also there will be enough stock :rolleyes:

)

Sometimes they get dropped early. Generally it should all be done in one go. But they might wait until they have sold current stocks as they will loss profits otherwise.

I'd keep an eye out for OcUK's This Week Only which starts this thursday, we may see a few processors on offer.

Last time a big price drop happened, OcUK started them a few days early with This Week Only, then dropped them slightly further when the actual date hit.

OcUK have already done that with the Q6600.
It was on special @ £199+VAT a couple of weeks ago, then the price jumped slightly and is now at £199+VAT again. OcUK already have pre-ordering available for some other Intel CPU's at the lower prices.
