That would work yes, though you'd be restricting yourself to VGA for connecting your PC. There is also the LG IPS236V which uses the same panel as the LG IPS231P, but is more of a 'consumer' model, so has hdmi input in exchange for a proper stand; it doesn't have any adjustment options other than tilt. You could get a 3rd party stand if adjustability matters to you, but then total cost comes close to the price of the Asus PA238Q or Dell U2312HM.
