Hi,
I just bought an X-Box 360 and I don't have the equipment to play it on my pc. I did manage to find a VGA cable to play it but it is hassle hoooking it to PC and Monitor. I had a look at a few LCD monitors with TV Tuner and HD (although not HDMI but component). The LCD TVs used at the XBox disply stands are the 23" Samsung LE23R51BX. I am a bit confused as I have not really done any research into these TVs. This model is cheaper than the LE23R41B and there is also another model, can't find it though. Basically I want to spend MAX £500. I have seen the LE23R41 for £473 delivered.

Is it difficult to use this as a monitor aswell as a television? I have a tank of a 19" CRT monitor which I am going to stick in the loft, as it has speakers attached it is roughly the same width as the samsung but would the samsung be silly to use as a PC monitor because of the res or widescreen? I am currenly using 1600*1200.

i personally dont think you will have any problem what so ever with using the r41/51 as a monitor. The resolution is perfectly adaquate and just make sure you are sitting at a good distance.
THe 26" version of both i can recommend and have seen both running with a PC over VGA @ 1360x768 (iirc).

there is very little choice of 23" screens with good PC connectivity and response times. THere is a sony one but most places the 26" is flippin cheaper. How rubbish is that... oh and it most likely uses the same panel as the samsung's anyhow.

The R5x and T5x have been replaced by the R7x and the even newer M7x ranges, both being similar but for the latter featuring two HDMI ports and a few other things. Both ranges are available in 23" IIRC.

Look for these threads on AV Forums (don't want to paste direct links for obvious reasons):

2006 Samsung LCDs - M7 Range - Pre Release / Specs / Price Info

I wasn't very clear in my first post but what I meant was that the the M series sport two HDMI ports.

Non of these TV's are avalable in 23".

The R7 is only avalable in 26"+. Prices start from around £600

The M7 is not even in this country yet either and will only be in 32"+
