OK, I came home to turn my PC on, and nothing from my main screen. I have the blue standby light, but nothing on the screen, not even any back light. I have checked my windows settings, tried different DVI ports on my GPUs, tried VGA cable - nothing. The only thing I haven't tried yet is a different DVI cable as I haven't got one, but I doubt it would be the cable?

Any other things I could try? If I have to replace it, is it worth going bigger and getting say a 28" or 32" full HD LED TV, or just get another 24" monitor for the same ish price? I primarily use it for games, internet and movies.

Cheers!

Was using a 27" LG as a monitor for a while and had the same problem, the monitor was dead and needed replaced. Did get a better quality Samsung out of it though

If it's out of warrenty open it up and look for any damaged caps (tops will be bulging) as Samsungs are well known to use cheap caps. I had the same problem as you and it turned out to be a dead resistor. 10p later and it was fixed xD

No idea if it's in warranty or not tbh, and I don't have any receipts for it that I know of I can't even remember where I bought it from! Doh!

Yeah, I'd open it up and see what you can find, that sounds like the best solution.

If not, I'd stick with a monitor over a TV..

The reason I was thinking of going the TV route, is I can go bigger (without drastically losing quality) but without spending silly money. This couldn't have happened at a worse time lol

So if we pretend I have £300 (I don't, I'm freaking skint), which is the best monitor I could get? Bigger the better too :)
