After a new monitor for editing photos. I believe an IPS is the way to go?

Whats the best currently?

Looked at two

U2412M
U2410

Theres like £100 price difference, just wondering why?

The U2412M is a new and slightly lower spec monitor compared to the U2410. The U2412M uses an E-IPS panel, while the U2410 uses a more expensive H-IPS panel.

The main differences in practice is that the U2410 is wide gamut (102% NTSC) while the U2412M with its slightly lower quality panel and LED back-lighting is standard gamut (71% NTSC) - also the U2410 has more video connection options. Here is a review which compares the two.

If you are willing to spend ~£400 the you may also want to have a look at the IPS panel 27in 2560x1440 Hazro monitors like the HZ27WC. Here is a review.
