Hey all,

Ive been trying to sort out a repeatinging crashing issue, ny netbook crashes more often than a blindfolded pensioner! Very frustrating any ideas? Tried hard drive test from usb but had no luck, what now?

What sort of crashing, are you getting BSODs every time or are applications locking up?

If your getting BSODs, find the log in event viewer and paste the data in here, usually a driver conflict.

i may need assistance in providing appropriate info

I have entered the admin. tools and i can post either application or system or both. How wold you like it posted do you copy and paste to notepad or is there a way to post it in a more readable format?

So it is BSOD's then? Just the stop error code will be enough to go on tbh, no need for the whole log. If you want to post something from the log, just copy and paste the error ones (the details bit)

errors and unusual crash screen note: only this type of crash on rare occasions

hi thanks for all your responses so far chaps.
This is where we are i could not copy and paste the details so i did a sceen shot.
I have included a picture of the unusual crash screen, bare in mind that the screen USUALLY REMAINS UNAFFECTED and the mouse freezes and will not respond to ctrl, alt, del. From time to time one in 20 lets say i'm treated to this rather beautiful but frustrating mosaic of noise.

FYI - the netbook crashed before i formatted it (the reason i did it) and remains crashing to this point :(
- no BSOD just as described above

Finally as you can tell no-one has stuck around to help me to the end which i understand as people have more important things to do than helping me limp though begginer computer diagnostics. Any repeated help will be warmly appreciated :) cheers

Looks like faulty graphics card to me, only graphics card could cause that sort of scrambled mess onscreen.

Do you have the latest graphics drivers installed?

first thing comes to mind with seeing that image is your GPU, if your still under warrenty RMA it. if not BAKE IT what you got to lose. link below.

Please note if it breaks its your fault for doing it. advice is offered on a no cash back offer. At no time can overclockers be held responsible for your stupidity.

best of luck.

Well thanks for all your help everyone. It is still under warranty but i have tried to fix it myself as a exercise in educating myself on these things, youve all been most kind! One last thing will PCWrorl be upset about some of the uhhm....clears throat, not entirely legitimate software installed on it?

music to my ears, well i called PCworld and they recon all will be lost anyway so I may as well wipe it and give them a clean slate. i'll back up everything of course and let em do what they gotta do, thanks for hanging around guys and helping me on my quest :)

I've had some mates who used to work at their, and they wont care, they will look at your hdd and laugh at your weird porno collection but they are it geeks the same as the rest of us, so they do all the same stuff. They will image the hdd, test it out, if it dont work theyll just replace it instead of repairing it.
