24 Hours in Police Custody

Just watched it. Failed by the system. Expecting an overstretched Police force to do something about an overstretched NHS. Lose/Lose situation
Definitely, it’s been like that for a while. There’s not really an alternative to sending the police for some of these dangerous mental health incidents. They said on the show the suspects were referred but nothing happened.

Aye it's a good watch. I think there's a similar thing on 5 no1 suspect or something similar, along with the usual motorway cops and whatnot it's a regular plod fest

Can recommend The Met that was on BBC1 towards the end of last year too, had a few episodes with a very similar feel portraying some very complex investigations.
Yep - Watched through these recently on Iplayer - quite similar to 24 Hours, some really interesting episodes.

One of the best docu series on TV . Have watched everyone since they started. Very compelling viewing.

About as realistic as it gets for cops that the general public will ever see. Last nights and Monday’s episode were brutal .

That was one of the first things on TV to turn my stomach and genuinely shock me in years. Utterly horrendous.

My wife and I always follow this series, but these two episodes came just a week after I witnessed a violent attack on public transport myself. I'm not sure if I was ready for this, actually.

Yes a weird - way over the top reaction to some petty pub dispute.

Even so I am not sure we learnt the whole story. The house cam footage showed a lot more than 2 or 3 people running about in the street.

Never did get the details of what was said that set it all off. What was all the squaring off at the pool table about ?

What occurred that resulted in the knife guys car being smashed up and who did it ?

Who brought the knife and why ?

Interesting that the guy who survived the stabbing seemed to be the one that started things in the pub - but "didnt hear" what happened etc

Nothing justifies what happened to them but clearly none of them in the pub at the beginning were blameless.

The guy that left his house and ended up dead - was he just a bystander or did he get involved in the fighting in the street - again that wasnt explained.

As with most of these programmes you just end up thinking what a stupid waste over some petty nonsense.

Do the two in jail really think it was worth throwing their lives away over - madness.

The guy who left his house was friends with the people involved. Not sure how involved he was with the fighting, but what a terrible coincidence. A fight starts on your street, you go out side, notice it's your friends that are fighting and the next thing that happens is you're dead. It was very odd how it all kicked off, a fight in a pub, a car being smashed up only for them to return and stab/run someone over. The other involved car being burnt out, and also some other innocent guy spending 3 months in prison before getting released without any charges!
