Ok lads, here's the craic... I'm downsizing the home office a little, and so it's the TV that's got to go. So, I'm looking to pick up a new primary monitor. Unfortunately, options are plentiful perhaps too plentiful, and I can't seem to find a monitor I feel comfortable pulling the trigger on.
I'd be using it for just about everything. Heavy internet use, movies and heavy gaming, PC and both consoles so HDMI input would be nice, although obviously an adapter can fix that. Speakers would also be nice, but a headphone jack is a must. I've been told I'll want a 16:9 display, as 16:10 will not be great for console gaming, which seems to rule out some of those nice Dell displays so many seem keen on.
The Eizo Foris FS2333 comes highly recommended, and it's within my upper budget of £300, but I've had two guys in the office tell me I should instead be looking at 120Hz displays? Suddenly, the options are even more difficult to sift through.
So, what do you guys suggest? I don't need the best monitor, I'm not some visual snob or an artist who appreciates every minute detail. However, I do need something that's going to hold up fine for heavy use of both consoles and a PC packing a 7950. With an upper budget on £300 I realise I've got the pick of most displays, but if I can keep the costs down then all the better and I'll be able to spend the leftovers on other nice things
