24" Monitor for a Mac Pro.

As the title says. I need a 24" Monitor for a Mac Pro.

Obvioulsy I don't want to spend much, but I know this will cost a bit!

I can take £300 out of a bank account , so thats the basis of the money. If need be this can be added to, but I need to keep costs down!

The Dells seem good, but problem prone

I would love to have a Apple Cinema Display 23", but at there RRP there just too expensive. I have looked on the bay and some go for £400, so that is an option maybe.

The Apple line is due a refresh soon-ish so there may be some great deals around as retailers rush to shift their stock.

I would imagine within the next 6 months at a conservative estimate. The macrumours buying guide says hold off, update probably due soon (it's been double the normal time between product refreshes). Maybe as soon as september.

The cinema displays have been due an upgrade since the beginning of time, when it is refreshed it'll be more expensive than the competition too so if you're looking for value I'd look elsewhere...

They will indeed be expensive, but there may be a fair few independent retailers (i.e. not apple stores or apple centres) with old stock willing to do a deal - hence the wait and see (plus you can save more money in the meantime to plump for something better).
