Hi everyone I'm sure this must have been asked before but basically about a year ago I bought a Dell 2408WFP which I use for desktop browsing, but more importantly for PS3 gaming.

The problem with it has been that it looks horribly jagged when displaying lower resolution games or games that have been upscaled to 1080p (Modern Warfare 2). I assume this is due to the S-PVA panel type as tn's seems to make these games look much smoother. Therefore I think I am going to have to downgrade to a TN with the £300 I can hopefully get for the Dell.

Any recommendations?

the samsung T240HD is a popular monitor among console users
i dont have one myself so cant say more than that but check it out

I had the 2408WFP for a year or so, so I may be able to help here.

The problem you are experiencing is very likely to be due to the PS3, not the display. The 2408WFP - just like any other 24in 1920x1200 monitor - has 2.3 million square pixels, this fact will not change if you go for a TN panel (well it will change a little if you get a 1080p one). As the image is upscaled from 600p - I imagine that is where the jaggies are introduced.

How are you running the display? one would hope in 1:1 mode for best results.

Alternatively, play MW2 on a half-decent PC and you cant turn on Anti-Aliasing and kill the jaggies dead.

Yeh I see your point here as this is what I thought when I bought the monitor I am running into the HDMI in of the monitor and using 1:1 mapping but I have used my PS3 on a very cheap gateway 24" to compare using the DVI in and it looked much smoother even though colour reproduction was not quite as good.

I am also looking into a new pc as I am very disappointed with the lack of actual high definition games everything except GT5 appears to be upscaled.
