I'm fancying a new monitor, 24", doesn't have to be super hi-res, 1080 will do, doesn't have to be super thin or anything, I don't need speakers built in, I prefer non-glossy screens but it isn't a deal breaker. A good track record for no backlight bleed as well!

Upto about £150, is 120Hz possible at that price? Not a must have, but would be nice.

Hiya mate,

I recently posted in another thread for a similar situation but with a ~£200 budget. I'll quote the post below:

Alternatively a high end 24 inch monitor would be the way to go. You may want to consider a 120hz refresh rate as it's meant to provide a very smooth gaming experience with sufficient frame rate.

One option could be this:

It would also give you the option for 3D in the future should you choose to pick an nVidia vision kit.

Slightly more expensive is:

This also sports a 1ms response time which is as low as you're going to find.

Really it depends what you want most from your monitor though - IPS panels can provide better colour reproduction (Better for films, photo editing etc) with slightly slower response times and lower refresh rates. However I get the impression you're asking about the best for gaming so I'd say 120hz would be for you.

The Acer I linked only recently arrived at ocUK and has picked up a lot of positive reviews so it looks like a pretty good bet.

Also 120hz is this BenQ - could also be worth considering http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MO-070-BQ

Essentially you're looking at quite a bit more for 120hz so if you're definitely looking around £150 then I'd say you've got 2 options:

A) Wait a bit for the acer or benq to come on offer! (ocUK released the acer at £199 so could be done again)

B) Settle for a lower refresh rate. Could opt for an IPS panel, which do have superior colour reproduction - it depends on what you're going to be doing most of. FPS gaming might lean you towards a lower response time but newer IPS technologies still offer some quick times with a fantastic picture.

This Iiyama may be worth a look.

Hope it helps!

That Dell looks like a good bet, I'm sure an inch smaller won't be a problem, I'll still be gaining 3 inches from my current monitor, and having display port means I can get another 2 at some point if a 3 monitor setup takes my fancy, not sure my hd 7850 will like that idea though!

I'm also currently looking for a new 24 inch monitor. The BenQ XL2411T seems to have great reviews everywhere I look but there's just one thing I need to check as I only have 42cm height to play with.

With the monitor fully down on the stand what is the total height? On the BenQ website it says its 43.1cm but it doesn't say if the stand is fully up or down.
