Hello all

I'm looking to get 2x new 24" monitors to replace my current old / entry level spec Acer V243Hs

My requirements below

1) Wall mountable / Vesa mounting holes
2) Thin bezel
3) Priced around £200 each but could go higher if justified

I don't game much at all, mainly used for office apps, video and photo editing, browsing etc.

Given the above, would I be correct in thinking an IPS panel is the way to go?

It would be greatly appreciated if you could provide some recommendations.

Thank you for your time,

Mike

Thank you for the suggestion.

After a bit of research I noticed it doesn't have HDMI. I have plastered in 2x HDMI cables into the walls already to hide them.

Given this, could you use a converter at both ends (my current gfx card uses DVI)? I know it's a digital signal but would the use of converters be detrimental in any way?

Also, are there any pros / cons associated with 1920x1080 vs 1920x1200?

As per original post, I won't be gaming on this. Video editing, surfing and office apps.

Anything else that fits the bill? Can't see many options to the point where I'm considering non-IPS panels.

Thank you

Mike

You can look for as many opinions as you wish, everyone will be based on someones wishful thinking or personalised experience. If you are Video Editing and Photo imaging then irrespective of gaming you will need a godd gtg ratio as well as a good Gamut and contrast ratio which holds calibration reasonably well.
IPS over standard LED/LCD, doesn't really matter unless it is a personal preference. To select say an Illyama, Acer, or even a Dell panel depends how professional you are about what you want it for.
There are several AOC panels which are exceptional and are professional and price into the thousands each.
What you really want is a simple multimedia panel that gives a good reproduction with reasonable response time, which has HDMI and DVI input. I have just purchased myself a BenQ GL2450HM which is 5ms resonse and 2ms gtg. I do an extensive amount of Photo editing using Photoshop and Photosop LightRoom. I could not justify my budget stretching any higher. My previous panel, which still works was an LG Flatron 22" 1680*1050 display VGA DVI inputs. Purchased back in 2006. Before that I tried a Samsung 22 Wide-screen monitor which would not work with my system, so I took it back.
Either way look for a monitor in the market which delivers what you want and look for the best price and the best customer support if things go wrong.
