So whats the cheapest 1920x1200 24" I can get that is decent enough for gaming? I've currently got some 22" hanns g but it's got really bad back light bleeding and there's a small cluster of dead pixels right in the middle.

Oh and preferably I need an hdmi and dvi input.

I've just bought a Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS 24" so I can let you know how that is when it's delivered next week. There are some good reviews on it too if you search google.

That's 1920 * 1080 though. He wants a 1920 * 1200 (good choice btw, more vertical space is always great - even for films, since most films letterbox even on 16:9 anyway)

This seems like a steal http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-052-IY&groupid=17&catid=1120&subcat= but it's out of stock and no eta :(

Doesn't have HDMI mind. I want to hook my ps3 up to it and don't really want to have to connect my pc via analogue and then use a dvi hdmi converter.

I would really love a dell 2407/2408, wouldn't mind second hand either but I dunno where to look, none on the bay.

If I can't find anything great I might bite the bullet and get the 120hz acer. Shame it's only 16:9.

So I've been looking at some 16:9 monitors instead as they sadly seem more readily available espeically in the lower price brackets.

The two I'm most interested in are

The Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS (as mentioned in a previous post)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-047-IY

and

The BenQ V2410 Eco

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-036-BQ&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

The Iiyama has the advantage of having both dvi and hdmi input. I would have to connect my PC via vga on the benq but it has led backlighting.

Any thoughts?

Oh and the Iiyama has a really neat stand which was something that was attracting me to the dell screens. I suppose the real question is does the LED really give the benq that much of an edge in picture quality over the Iiyama?

I've also found this in stock else where

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-052-IY&groupid=17&catid=1120&subcat=

26" and 16:10 but bogstandard stand, no led and no hdmi. If only that 24" Iilyama was 16:10 this would be so easy :(

and now this:

http://www.lge.com/uk/it-products/monitors/LG-led-monitor-W2486L.jsp

led and has plenty of input options but on the pricey side.

So many choices and yet none of them are perfect. Please help me!!

24" Iiyama is a rational choice IMO.
The stand can be useful as well as the different connections as you stated.

Don't worry about the LEDs, that's the backlight technology not the panel so no real better visual quality.

Another vote for the Iiyama from me. I've had it a few weeks now and no complaints. And got to admit that I'm pretty fussy.

The fully adjustable stand is a God send. Can't beat it for the price I think. I spent ages looking at reviews and was even prepared to pay a fair bit more (up to say £240). For general use and gaming it's fine.

Enjoy.
