Hi,

Trying to decide which would be the best way to go, upgrading from a cheap hanns-g 19" so both will be a massive upgrade. Don't have the budget for 1440p so for £150-170 whats the best monitor to go for? Will be used for movies and gaming, Pc is:

2500k @ 4.8ghz
8GB DDR3
6870

Just pondered this myself as I could wait a few months a go freesync with a sure fire upgrade (from 22" AG monitor from Vista days).

However I knew I would need over £300 which in reality the family would have extinguished those funds If I waited so I plumped for the BenQ GW2760HM 27" Widescreen.

Its apparently due on Monday so can report back if it arrives and you can wait.

Depends how far you sit from the screen i would say, if ya sit a long way then you cant see the pixels, if ya sit quite close it might annoy ya seeing all the individual pixels. I would go to a store and have a look at a few screens and see what ya think.

I contemplated waiting for freesync but like you decided they would be out of budget. Thats one of the monitors ive been looking at so will be interesting to see what you think.

if 1080p go for a 24inch.

The pixel density is just too low at 27inches and looks bad.

This is the thing stopping me go 27", i sit 0.5m away so pretty close!
