24" Screen for MacBook Pro?

I am rebuilding my home office and need to get an external monitor for use with my MacBook Pro to provide some more real estate, no least as I broke my Dell 24". I have decided on 24" again and a high resolution no lower than standard HD, but if possible higher would be nice.

So, any pointers, don't want to spend mad money so around £200 max as I have a Dell 27" for my PC but that is painful to connect the MacBook to and get the full resolution.

Thoughts welcomed and appreciated.

OK, different question. I am now pretty much set on the Dell UltraSharp U2412M as my choice, which has a resolution of 1920x1200. My question is what is the best method to connect to this monitor as HDMI won't support that resolution and does anyone know if a MacBook Pro Mid 2010 can support this resolution?

I am suspect this monitor and a mini display port to display port cable is the right way forward. Thoughts?
