24 " vs 27"

Assuming the screens are otherwise identical, the 24 might appear crisper as the same amount of pixels are squashed into a smaller space. The 27inch though, is noticabley bigger.

I'm thinking of a 27" next, the 24" will surely have a slightly crisper image but the size of the 27" which will be noticably bigger will surely be more immersive

Heres a weird though, if the screen is bigger, does it take longer to aim!?

Going from a 19" monitor and my laptops 15.4" both should be a major boost :D

I'm wondering if I should go for the sharper, yet smaller, picture or go all out and get a bigger screen.

I'm going to be using for PC work and gaming and also Xbox 360.

try to go for 1900x1200 if you can - I would like to but don't fancy the stretched image for xbox gaming. There is no 1:1 mapping on any of the monitors I have seen.

Can you recommend a 1900x1200 monitor that has 1:1 pixel mapping and doesn't cost more than £250? Preferably 24" +

I went from 22" to 27" ... same 1920x1080 resolution... can't see much difference in quality, 27" great for me, both watching movies and Gaming: Dead Space 2, MW2 Online, Mass Effect 2, etc, plays great on 27"!

No, my 27inch works brilliant for fps, although it will take a bit of getting used to, it's big, and to start with you will be spraying all over the shop!

I think I actually slowed my mouse down a tad when I first got it, as quick turns combined with the size were quite disorientating but you soon adjust.

I think mainly because to start with, you will try to take the whole view in, but when a bit more use to it, your brain will peripheralise (is that a word? Lol) more effectively, so it's more natural and immersive. I sit about 1.5/2 feet from the screen which may sound bonkers, but it makes for awesome fps fragging :D

i wouldnt have a 1920x1080 personally but then my screens have gone ..
17 - 1920x1200
24 - 1920x1200
27 - 2560x1440

i couldnt deal with a 27 at 1920x1080 unless it was a tv

If I got a 27" it'd have to be 2560x1440 or 2650x1600. I think 24" is really about as big as you want to go for 1080p given how far most people sit from the monitor. I have a 1920x1200 24" monitor and it's fairly sharp from where I sit but about at the limit of 'crystal clear'.

I've got a 32" 1080P screen lol (tv). I think it's too big for games I struggle to see things. I think i need to downgrade to 27"
