I'm after a nice 24" widescreen monitor, but which one is better? Both seem to get great reviews it's difficult to choose between them.

Any firm opinions on which is the better of the two?

Cheers,

So if money wasn't an issue, would you have gone for the Dell? What makes the Dell better than the Samsung, or is it negligable?

Depends on what you need from it.

The Dell has more "features" and superior viewing angles.

If you want it for DVD viewing then the Dells' viewing angles would suit you.

If you just want it as a gaming monitor ( and save ~£100 ) then get the Sammy.

There are more indepth threads here about both monitors.

Mark

Edit - Answer to your question = Unlimited budget then the Dell , but more than happy with the Sammy

I've got a standard 2407, really cannot fault it.

Ditto, another vote for the Dell, was in a similar position but went for the Dell for the panel (not TN) and the 1:1, Bunch of connections so i can do 1080p with the xbox 360.

Also dell has a great dead pixel policy / warranty.. can't comment on how good samsung are in that department.

Found it hard to not get the Sammy, as its cheaper and they have a good reputation with screens - i have a Samsung TV, but went for the Dell 2407 and don't regret the decision!
