sorry guys another which 24" thread. I would like a monitor without a TN panel cost not to important but i will say if it's to high. idealy for gaming (tomb raider and need for speed series) and watching the odd music vid/HD film.
have been looking at the following:

Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP 24"
BenQ FP241W 24" Widescreen

Are there any others that I should be concidering.
I will be replacing a 17" ViewSonic CRT which has lasted 5 years, so am hoping for something with similar life expentancy

Hands down the benq, i have one and i love it and i did a lot of researching for a long time on it. While i cannot give you a direct comparison im pretty sure i made the right choice.

The only flaw in it i can find is that the menu is a little slow to use and can be a bit irritating. But tbh im not going to buy a screen on the basis of its menu so i can put up with it.

They ahve a good pixil warrenty i belive as well. But im sure dell probably do as well anyawy.

If your a gamer, whatever you do, dont go for the Dell 2408. The input lag on that thing is around 50-60ms, which will impact fast games like that. It's possibly the worst on the market in this respect, whereas the BenQ is meant to be a solid all-round piece of kit.

well i cant find any other problems then. I just checked viewing angels and i put my head pritty much so i can only just see the screen from the side and the colours are only very very minorly shifted a tad lighter id say.

One thing i will say is that because there is no speakers, if you have a consol you wish you use you will need extender leads on the sound because the sound cables will obiously not reach any sound imputs on your pc or external speakers. But having said that you cant use the sonsol ones anyway because they have the jaws around them, meabnign they will not slot into the sockets if you follow.

what your system spec?

Luckly ive had no problems iwth 1:1 and ascept ratio for runnig lower resolutions. I find aspect very good actually. But of corse its best if your pc can just handel the proper resolution :p
