As above, I am currently running an AW 240hz 1080p IPS panel and thinking of upgrading to 500hz. There seems to be a couple of choices out there but not sure if it's worth the upgrade from a cash perspective - any experience?

Will depend on your system. use case and whether you actually can notice the difference or not.

Unless you are a professional it seems overkill to me but can't say I can tell a real difference over 120fps to be honest. (not saying other people can't)

Tbf you just have to try yourself and make the judgement. What tends to happen with the high fps screens is that people initially say there isn't much difference, but after a couple of weeks, they go back to the old screen and all of a sudden it a lot more obvious and sometimes described as I couldn't go back now.

I can feel the difference between 30/60 60/120 120/240 240/360 and I tried a 500hz monitor non oled earlier in the year (it was noticeably more responsive) but then the rest of the monitor was awful and definitely not worth the asking price. If you can afford the upgrade to OLED that's a bigger deal than the fps jump (or get the 360/480hz oled variants)

4K/8K 1000hz is the eventual end game :) long in the future.
