2400Mhz DDR4 modules - how far can you push them?

Was just wondering how far anyone has overclocked 2400MHz DDR4 RAM modules on a Z170 mobo? I have my Team Group Elite 2400 overclocked at 2666 which is nice an stable, can I go much further?

Just been reading some benchmarks and didn't realised there was as much performance gains in FPS for gaming with faster memory as the benchmarks showed...

From what I saw on one review it was quite dependant on the game too. Like The Witcher was getting 12-15 fps more with 3200 over 2666 but GTA made zip all difference.

I'll see what my Hyper X 2400 can do once its all nailed together.

Yeah it was Far Cry 4 I saw benchmarks showing a 5 FPS increase from 2400 to 3200Mhz. Be interested to see how you get on with yours...

I've seen a couple of reviews with the Hyper X Fury stuff I bought and the 2666 modules were going to 3000 or 3200 and even tightening the timings so it'll be interesting to see, also to see any actual difference in games I play since they aren't the likes of GTA or Witcher.

I have managed to get my 2400mhz dominator platinum clocked up to 3000mhz, nice and stable and pass all memory tests. I did have to increase the voltage slightly.

I am on my 3rd set of ram on my Z170 mobo

The first set I had was 16GB of Kingston Fury at 2400MHz DDR4, I had this running at 2800MHz with no timing or voltage adjustment for 3 months and till I sold it to a friend. Then I had some Team group Xtreem 3733MHz 16GB and I could not get this clocked any higher than 3400MHz, I also noticed no difference to the speed of the PC in games or any apps.

Then I sold that for a big loss and got 32GB (2x16) of Kingston Fury at 2400MHz DDR4, overclocked again to 2800MHz with no timing or voltage adjustment.

Nice, that's what I bought on Saturday for £100!
