I'm currently running my new system on my old Corsair XMS3 1600mhz memory, but would like to get some new ram to go with the rest of the build. I've got a Z87X-UD4H and a 4670k running at 4.6GHz. Now should I get 2400mhz or slower as I've heard it might make my overclock unstable? Also, which ram would you recommend, I really wanted to get the Corsair Vengence in red to match my board, but the Patriot Venom 2400 kit also looks nice in red and is cheaper.

Patriot's a good brand and the offer's good. The memory speed in real life won't make any difference, but if you have any problems at 2400MHz you can just knock it down to 2133MHz and tighten the timings from C10 to C9.

Yeah it was more just for bragging rights. I think I'll just go with the Patriot stuff and get the 2x8GB as it's pretty cheap considering.

2400 16gb Haswell usually does not effect OC. Patriot makes great stable RAM at XMP so you made a good choice.

good to know that, ive moved to 8gb of team group 2400mhz stuff recently. And was hoping that my previous cpu oc would still be ok. Was running Samsung green before.
