When running a 1600x1200 image on my 2407 the picture by default is stretched. However when I go into the menu to display settings the option to allow 1:1 (Wide mdoe) is greyed out. Is there anyway around this as the 2407 does support 1:1.
Think it's just an unavoidable quirk...I think the firmware on the Dell screens only query one dimension since there're a few quirks in the monitor scaling (e.g. 1280x800/1280x720 will be stretched to 1280x1024 on my 2405). I believe my 2405 suffers the same UXGA/WUXGA problem you're detailing. As Clown is saying, you can always choose to let the graphics card do the scaling (if you're on nVidia anyway).
X1900XTX, in the drivers its set to center the image.
Compared to my old 7800GTX the drivers for ATI are rubbish. I cant wait to get back to the green ship. Its just unfortunate the X1900 cant be matched by nvidia at the moment.
