My current setup is Dual 17" TFTs and a Sharp LC26GA3E (26" Widescreen TV) and I am hungering more resolution for my primary gaming/work displays.

The problem I face is I cannot loose dual displays, its too usefull. BUT, with a 2407 on my desk I cannot fit a 17" for a second display and keep the 26" TV there too.

I am thinking about leaving the TV hooked up all the time and using it as a second display, but, the need to turn around from the keyboard to see what I am typing on it would become an annoyance. Additionaly its native res is 1368x768, which means I lose a fair amount of verticle real estate.

Primarily I play WoW, and for anyone else which does you will appreciate the need for UI space. Something which I am lacking on 1280x1024.

Do I buy another desking unit and run a 17, 24 and a 26, or do I run just a 24 and a 26? or do I not bother and stay with dual 17s?

The 2407 is more than tempting at its current price :(

2407 is just tops. Can't you buy a 17" as a second - you can get them for around £120. (Or visit a car boot sale)

Why dont you get rid of the 26" TV, buy 2x 2407's and buy a digiTV card? :D I have 2x 2007WFP and a nebula digitv card, its lovely!

Ah but just think of this but bigger;

It would look so much better than 3 different sized TFT's!!

<edit> smaller pic.

This is the problem I see with the use of really large TFT's on a gaming rig

With most recent games nowadays you need two decent graphics cards to power a 24" Dell or such like at their natural res - and while you can get away with one, its not showing off the screen at its best without two and before long two will be definitely required

However with both nV's and Ati's version of dual cards, you can only have one TFT active, so its pointless having two monitors (the only proviso is that possibly with nv's SLI you might have more chance to getting a PCI vga card working - if PCI slits actualy continue to appear for long.....

Be warned at the moment ATI not only dont gaurentee PCI cards (of theirs let alone nv's) will work with Crossfire enabled , they are pretty adament that too many mobo resources are required for any pci vga card to work with xfire working.

Back on the subject though lol, I wouldnt be without My 2407 its certainly worth every penny

id say 24" +26" as secondary

that sharp tv is preety damn good tv and monitor id keep it for secondary use tbh yes res is low but its hd ready and should you decide to get a x360, ps3 or wii then you are sorted:)
