I dont know but its furry.
Had my Dell 2408WFP for just over a year now and its just started having a weird blue line appear down the screen after its been turned off for a period of time.

Its strange because its only there for about 5 mins then dissapears again. Not sure if its a software problem or if the screen itselfs is at fault.

Hope its easily sorted because I dont think its in warranty now as its been just over a year.

Bad connection on the red trace for that column maybe that doesn't work until it's warmed up and expanded? Looks like a replacement panel job regardless, unless you can live with it.

Hi there m8,

I think I had pretty much the same problem as you, a vertical blue line down the screen which disappeared after 5-20 minutes. I tested it with new DVI cables and new computer inputs - no change. After living with it for a while I collected a second blue and a pink line too and realised the problem would likely just get worse. Fortunately, the monitor came with 3 year dell warranty (I think yours should come with similar, as opposed to the standard 1 year).

To contact dell, I found my Dell Works Order Number and Serial number of the monitor. The works order number is on the original box, if that has been thrown away (like mine was) the retailer you got the monitor from should have a record of it. The serial number was on the back of the monitor ( CZ-0CX....). With that info, and the name of the original retailer I contacted dell (0844 338 1200 then ask for the monitor department). After a 5 minute conversation detailing the problem and giving my information, a replacement was arranged to be delivered the next day.

The next day, dell arrived as promised and exchanged my panel for a shiny new one at my doorstep. In fact the new one was revision A01, my old one was A00. I'm now working on one of the best 24 inchers about with not a blue /pink line in sight :D

Hope that is of some help,
