240Hz Monitor Opinions ?

I currently play on 144hz G-Sync screens. Ive used 240hz monitors before tho it was the Zowie one, went full on nerd and went to a gaming bar in my city with a mate. The difference can very vaguely been seen in csgo when you are pushing those kind of frames but when we playing other games that you arent pushing fps in the 200's I didnt notice a slight bit of difference. I personally would go for 144hz g-sync as the g-sync is incredibly beneficial for the poorly optimized games as well as who like screen tearing anywhere?

Of course thats just my opinion but i really see no need for anything greater than 144/165

i think from what most people are saying is if you need the best of the best, and play csgo and other fast pace competitively and want an edge no matter how small go for it but otherwise stick to a 144hz

I’ve had the pleasure of trying a 240hz screen as well as many 144/120s of various calibres.

My experience with the 240 was curious as during my play with it I honestly didn’t notice a huge difference over 144z. It was only when I went back to 144hz that I noticed those slight differences and it made it seem ever so slightly disadvantageous compared to what I’d just been on.

It really is minuscule though and if you are anything but a professional being payed to win games then I would get a slower but better looking screen any day.

From what i'v read there really isn't that much of a difference when you consider the price, If you have 144hz already i wouldn't bother.

I've just gone straight to a 240hz gsync from a 60hz monitor, but I am very new to PC gaming.

Playing with unlocked frames on a 60hz with a 1070ti compared to a gsync 240hz is pretty huge difference though :p

240Hz does have benefits compared with 144Hz in both frame rate potential and perceived motion clarity. If you can achieve consistently high frame rates to make the most of it, it's def worth it for competitive, top end gaming in my opinion. You have to live with 1080p right now if you want it, and limitations of TN Film technology in general but for gaming it's a very good option. There's quite a few 24.5" models around and a few less 27" too. Asus have a 23.8" model coming soon too.

Ps if you also enjoy motion blur reduction backlights, the LG 27GK750F has an excellent one that even runs at 240Hz and does a great job of eliminating strobe cross talking ghosting as well!

I went from 144hz to 240hz; just for csgo. The difference is not very obvious. It improves the motion clarity and if you can pick up a 240hz panel without paying too much over a 144hz then it is a reasonable choice.
