I've recently bought the Aorus KD25F as I wanted a monitor for FPS gaming, which was going to replace my Dell s2716dg as my main monitor.

While the drop from 1440p to 1080p was a bit of an issue I really can't stand the grainy matte coating on it. Can anyone recommend another 240hz, monitor (preferably with a similar, current generation panel) which has a lighter coating?

If I'm going to return the KD25F, I'll have to do it tomorrow, so looking for any help to make a decision!

Thanks

I don't think the pixel density on 27" 1080p screens is low enough for me, so that rules those out.

The coating on my Dell s2716dg is fine, don't really understand why all these screens have such thick coatings.. who is using gaming monitors out in the sun?

I don't get it either XD
I am using a monitor with a really grainy matte coating and I still have to close the curtains in the room to see the monitor properly so they don't even work.
All they seem to do is poop all over the image quality.

I'm tempted to try removing it, have seen some posts on some forums of people soaking it with distilled water until it peels off. Obviously lose the warranty and have to take a huge amount more care with it but they look incredible.

The Alienware is probably the same as my Dell, I guess. However, it's a last gen panel. To get the very best performance I'll have to just get used to the coating :(

Decided I couldn't get used to it (gave it one last try).. so gonna get myself the Alienware!
