I've been using an AOC LM720A for the past 5 years or so, when it came out it was a good 17" tft, and I paid £326 for it. However, it was superceeded today when my new Samsung 244T in black showed up
My initial impressions:
Wow, it's big. I've been used to 1280x1024 at 17" with a big bezel, and this is in a completely different league in terms of size. What is also in a completely different league is the brightness and contrast - much much better than before. I've not got it properly colour calibrated yet, and I need to buy some clever gubbins that does that tomorrow, as I do a fair bit of (amateur) graphics work. Never really bothered before on the AOC.
Most impressed with the price. I know in the UK that it's £700-800 (ish), so I was very happy to get it for $850 (£450) all in with delivery. I've seen it as low as $760 (£411), but had issues ordering from that particular store. Found a very reputable e-tailor for $820, and then the shipping was $30 on top.
I know the benq just came out, and I know it does HD, but I don't care. I don't need HD, and this panel is amazing. I'm sure the benq may turn out to be better, but I don't really need the 'best', just something that's pretty good and will last me another 5 years. Played a few games on it - the colours are much more vibrant and havn't seen any ghosting, lagging or dead pixels yet.
Sorry to babble on with a slightly pointless thread Am a bit excited though
