24pin psu question

Will hard be done to the computer if i use the 8pin power connector (next to the cpu socket) and a 20pin rather than the 24pin?

I'm prity sure you need the 24pin to be connected on modern motherboards. Doesn't your PSU have one?

a lot of boards still operate with just the 20 pins connected =/

But tell us what board your using and people will be able to assist more.

it does, i just got my geil ram back from a rma and am not sure whether to try it or not. Mine is a 20pin and then the 4pin can be added onto the 20pin. I think i may of had the 20pin but connected and thought that could have been what killed my geil ram :confused:
