25 and Over vs under 25's?

Well, I don't really know anyone who plays games, which is kinda depressing for multiplayer stuff.

So was thinking perhaps some people on here could do some regular-ish gaming sessions with some of the recent games such as COD4, UT3, Crysis maybe? Just getting together on pre-decided servers, having a blast, coming back and raggin on each other.

Only suggest under 25's vs over 25's to make it more interesting. Suppose for deathmatch it would not matter, but for team based could be fun.

Is anyone else interested in this? How would we go about about organising this if so?

I suppose I just desperately long for competition of some kind! :)

Voting:

Go to the last page, and scroll up til you see the list of games being voted for. Quote that list and add 1 to the game you would most like to play.

Thought the voting is no longer really important, as TF2 and UT3 seem to be the most popular choices, so we will begin with them.

Games currently being voted on: UT2, COD4, TF2, ET:QW

Contributions:

If you would like to contribute towards payment for the server rental an account has been set up on Paypal.
You can send money through Paypal to: [email protected]

You do not need to pay to join in. This is only in place to try and spread the cost of the server.

To keep things fair though, priority will be given to those who pay should the servers ever be full. So non-payers stand the chance of being kicked.

Also if you contribute, and people would like to continue with this idea, then any contributions made will count to the next month. If you contribute, and the idea does not continue, then obviously you will get your money back.

Admin:

Randal24 has volunteered to control the money and rental of server.

We will be going with GameServers.com, and that will allow us to swap between games.

Their UT3 servers will be up shortly, so we will begin with TF2.

For now, Randal24 and myself will be the upper level admins for the sake of simplicity.

Server Status:

TF2:

Password if asked: bringonsummer

Teamspeak:

Matches:

Old vs Young matches will probably only happen one or two nights a week, the rest of the time it will just be open for anyone to mess around on. The games will be cycled.

Next Round:
When: 05/12/2007 - 20:30
What: Team Fortress 2 Map rotation

Have never bothered with organised matches on these forums but the under 25 vs over 25 sounds very good. I have COD4 and UT3 so would defintly be interested if enough are up for it.

And I am 25 :)

I'm 30 and play TF2 near enough every night. Not very good but I still play.

I like it because it doesn't take itself too seriously and seems easier to pick up and put down than some of the other FPS online shooters.

I'd be up for something like this for sure, i'm 18. :)

Edit: Btw best way to do it would be to use Xfire, someone finds a server and joins, and everyone else follows or something. Would be best if someone has their own server though, to stop random ppl joining.

What a wicked idea.
Im firmly in the over 25's bracket, both in age and reaction times :D
I find UT3 hopelessly fast but love it regardless
Could only probably manage 1 session a week, but yeah - Im interested

Thread hasn't been going long. People that have replied are in work I assume so would be over 25.

Come 3:30pm the young kids/students alike will reply with there english most 25+ people won't understand.

Why don't we try as the OP suggested, if it's hideously unmatched then we could mix it up a bit to keep it interesting.

Any ideas on hosting btw? Paypal donations and buy a server for the month? About £30 if memory serves...
