25 inch 1080p at 240hz or 27 inch 1440p at 75hz

Hi all,

I have an old i9-9900k with a Nvidia 1080 graphics card. It's a gaming PC for the kids now, and I have the choice of two monitors for them. Either an HP Omen 25 which can run 1080p but up to 240hz, or a 27 inch QHD HP monitor which can run at 75hz.

The larger screen looks nicer, but less FPS from a Nvidia 1080 then the smaller screen.

Any thoughts on what you'd use?

Depends what they play?

If it's any FPS games like Fortnite, CS2 etc then the 240hz 1080P Screen.

If it's mostly single player stuff then the 1440P

1080p 240hz even if they play single player, the desktop experience and gaming experience in games where it can run well, will be far more enjoyable for them day to day.

Completely agree with this, 1080p is a much more appropriate resolution with that particular GPU and anything that does run at 240hz will be night and day compared to 75hz.
