Hi, I'm currently running a i5-2500k (at stock speeds with stock cooler) with 4gb ram. I'm thinking of buying a cheap-ish after-market cooler (~£25) and overclocking, but I can get another 4gb ram for the same price. If I only get one of these upgrades which is likely to give the most noticeable boost in overall performance?

depends what your doing really?

Unless you use a couple of heavy applications simultaneously, your not likely to max out your current 4GB of RAM.

Similarly, unless you are playing CPU intensive games with lots of action, you won't really seeany benefit from overclocking.

Go and spend it on beer tonight.

Only option i can see here is upgrading the cooler. Clocking the cpu will far outweigh the gains of 8gb of ram unless you are using heavily memory intensive software.
