£250-£300 upgrade?

brother is looking to upgrade his current machine -;


Sapphire HD 7850 1024MB
Intel Core i3-3220Socket LGA1155
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77
16GB DDR3 ram
random ocuk huntkey? 450w psu - suggested to upgrade that ASAP.

he mainly uses it for gaming and 3d modeling so better cpu/gpu is what he needs

current screen sits at -; 2560 x 1080 res.

what's the most logical upgrade path here? - need to order end of today so any help appreciated here.

I7 2600K/3770K 2nd hand.

Thats like £100 gone.

PSU, Antec/Superflower 550w = £60

GFX card, GTX770 - £160, R9 280/285 - £140

Can pick up a used 280x or 7970 for under £100 as well.
