I am looking for a CPU and Motherboard for my brother.

Will be used for gaming and minor video editing mainly.

I have 6gb of DDR3 left over from another system.. I hope it will fit.

That DDR3 would fit but Tri-Channel isn't really a thing anymore, so for best performance you'd only get to use two of those three, assuming they are 2gb sticks, and honestly 4gb isn't enough these days. You could have course buy a fourth stick, but it's not easy to get one that matches, and single sticks arent really sold. Do you know which it is?

I will just purchase more - Adding an extra £50 onto the budget if that covers it all.
