Stay with DVI.
7950 is better than 660ti, different league. 7950 now trades blows with 670 after 12.11's.
I put the 660TI as an option if the OP wants Nvidia.never had an amd card before but more than willing to change.
currently got 2xnvidia 260 cards and cant go any longer due to space - they are 10.5" or 267mm long, the amd cards all seem an inch longer is that correct?
I know this card is slightly over but it is the right size. I already have the mobo but thinking of getting this monitor and gfx card. Does it seem ok?

Iiyama are probably one of the most under rated monitors there are, my next monitor will be an Iiyama, the MSI TF 7950 is a good card and smaller than your GTX 280's
Asus Motherboards are also pretty good.
