Am I right in thinking the N150 Plus (Atom N550 Version) is the best in this price range@£229.99?

Just looking for portability and nice keyboard/touchpad really, and not to be fugly. Problem is, a lot of the 'books I tried at a competitor really brassed me off, like the left click was too stiff or the keyboard was oddly shaped or something like that. The N150 and some Packard Bells were the only ones in there I liked.

Willing to go a little over £250 but only if necessary.

Cheers

Yeah that or the Acer One Happy D255 which is rated better by many review sites, there aren't any other netbooks which have got as good reviews as those two.

But you can buy 750GB HDD's for £50 & 2GB DDR3 memory for £20 which is great value for money.

So for around £300 you can get a N550 Dual core, 2GB DDR3, 750GB HDD netbook with 8+ hours battery life. Sounds pretty awesome for me.

But I don't like the fact the screens are such low resolution, I'm going to wait and see if any netbooks with 720p screens come out since tablets with 10 inch screens are getting HD resolutions now.

How about a zacate system? Its supposed ot be about the same as an atom/ion system.

I think they are about £280. Not 100% on the ins and outs but the better graphics and possible GPU acceleration may make it a good alternative. The c50 is the low power single core with the E350 being the dual.

That is indeed what I'm thinking of doing :p Or an SSD since as it is, I only use 100GB on my main build, and that's with all my games etc installed too.

The D255 was my original choice but I tried it in the competitor store and hated it. Just didn't like the feel and the stiffness of the click bar and stuff.

Only one netbook's out with the C50, and it's £70 more than a netbook with the N550 :(

Sorry to hijack this old thread but if I was to buy either of the two netbooks mentioned (the N150+ or the D255) would they be able to run Fallout 1 & 2 and Baldurs Gate 1 & 2okay?

I have an N150 plus dual core Atom, it's slow lol. I need to get rid of all the Samsung bumf and get a 2gb stick, I might get an SSD too and ghost the drive etc, should be pretty snappy for internet/office use then.

No idea tbh mate. GMA 950 is probs too weak :p

Since OP I bought an Aspire One A150 for £40, new screen and adaptor for another £40, put an nLited XP install on and it runs quicker than my main Windows 7 rig when it comes to processing (graphics, not so)
