I am after a Shuttle/HTPC that can play Blu Rays on my 32" 1080p LCD screen, I don't need a keyboard or mouse etc. Is this do-able?

I've been out the loop for a while!

I have seen a system with the following spec:

Shuttle SK22G2
AMD X2 4200ee
2GB Ram (no more info)
7600GT

Would that run 1080p ok?

I don't really play games too much anymore but a bit of potential upgrading would be nice.

Cheers :D

I recently built a HTPC for £310, base unit without a hard drive or OS (as I already had both).

Asus P5Q-EM - uses the Intel G45 chipset which aids playing 1080p content.
Intel Core Duo E5200
Scythe Mini Ninja
4GB Corsair
Antec NSK 2480 (with 380w PSU)
Sony DVDRW

You dont need the scythe mini ninja so -£30, and you could get away with 2GB of ram for about £10 less. However the cheapest bluray drive is about £50.

AMD might suit your budget a bit better though.

AMD Athlon X2 5050e Socket AM2 45W Energy Efficient Retail Boxed Processor £51.97
ASUS M3A78-EM 780G Socket AM2+ onboard graphics 8 channel audio mATX Motherboard £60.97

That would save you another £40 on my original spec.
