Desperately need some build advice please.

Need to build a budget system that provides optimal performance for office work, photo editing and browsing as my sister has fried her current computer.

All I need is: motherboard, memory (2gb), cpu and graphics card.

CPU will not be o/c so default h/s& fan will suffice. Sound card is not required as it would not be utilised so onboard sound will be fine.

Ideally would prefer Intel C2D and will be running on XP Pro. Have already got a 400w PSU, DVD rewriter and sata HD, 19" LCD, k/b and mouse.

Never built a low end system before hence advice needed. Would say she is a moderate user mainly using computer each evening.

Appreciate any advice on offer. Cheers!

Hmmm, very interesting and thanks for the suggestions guys :)

Which is the better processor out of the C2D and AMD 64 X2? Will there be any discernable differences between them (ie with the 3MB cache) or is it just a matter of preference?
