Not sure if this is a cpu problem board problem or a user problem (me !)

Basiclly my stock multiplyer is 33

in the bios is says max multiplay rang **-33 (i cant remember the lowest number )

If i overclock it to 40 multiplier it still stays at 3.4Ghz?

My board is a p8z68-v pro board
intel 2500k
corsair vengeance 2x 2gb

Im going to try the in windows side of OC just in case but any ideas?

What still says 3.4 GHz? Windows system info pages are a bit pants at that sort of thing :) CPU-Z is a good suggestion if you aren't using it yet.

For sake of testing, Asus' in-Windows tool for playing with multipliers is pretty good, worth using over BIOS while you're finding stable settings.
