2500k prices

They seem to be in the £180 range, they were £15 or so cheaper a month or two ago.

Bulldozer effect ?

still overpriced imo, they can do like 100+ fps on bf3 but when the ideal is 60fps why bother , i remember buying a amd 965 quad as when they were released we were told all games will be quad core yet we are only just waiting for BF3 to take full advantage of all these cores .

Also i was going to buy a 2500k this month but now seing reports it going to be replaced soon so what will be the benefit of all this new extra cpu power none is the answer we can look at andtech all we like but on the benches how many of us care about every detail of every bench most of them use software we are never likely to use so why does it matter, it doesn't

just read this http://www.guru3d.com/article/phenom-ii-x4-980-be-processor-review/17 and they say the 980 cant touch the I5 but it still does 70fps in most games why do we need any more

sorry for the rant but i am seeing every thread writing off bulldozer and bigging up the I5 yes its a good cpu but i personally will save the extra dosh to buy a ssd and load my games instantly and at 70fps and relish in saving money

again sorry for the rant but realisticly the I5 wont be life changing as they claim maybe a few seconds saved or a few extra fps , it will then be rubbished in the new sandbridge-e line up and we will start all over again

sorry to add but having worked at 2 major IT web retailers i know that this is rubbish , they are simply controlling the market the first company i worked at bought the entire stock of the samsung f3 at launch giving a new buy price for all other suppliers as there was now a new demand for new stock so samsung make a quick buck uping the price as they now have to go into overdrive to produce more . In the meantime the retailer makes massive margin as the pre order price is artificialy raised .

we used to sell to traders in tottenham court road who then bought all of our stock of laptops printers ect and then would sell them on as they had the monopoly of that stock as they cant be replenished over night .

when you consider some of the buyers had a budget they had to spend a month on stock and the hard drive budget was in excess of 2 million pound !!!
