2500k Temps ?

Hey guys built my new rig yesterday, (pics to follow) i have the i5 2500k a MSI P67 A GD65 and the Akasa Venom cpu cooler

OcUk forgot to pack my Artic Silver 5 so i used the paste that came with the Akasa Venom cooler.

I'm using "coretemp" and it says

24-26 c

low= 19-20c

High = 30-35 c


Is this right ?

Hey mate, thanks for the quick reply no it's just stock at the moment
going to overclock in a week or so when i learn a bit more about it.

Is it worth running prime 95 ? to check high temps ?

try it, you have only just built it so it mite need a prime run to bed-in the paste, for your info, my 2500k is oc'ed to 4.6 and i get 27-30 on idle and 59-65 on load

Ok so i ran Prime95 for 15 minutes (is that enough?)

this what i got

core#0 low=19 c high = 38 c

core#1 low=20 c high = 41 c

core#2 low=22 c high = 47 c

core#3 low =22 c high =43 c

Are the temps ok ?

seems ok for stock, i think mine was about that, 15 mins should be ok for temp testing, not to sure on how well the venom cools, if i remeber mine were lower but i have a different cooler

I mean would i see big difference in temps if i put Artic Sliver 5 on ?

ive got half a tube of AS5 that im not using, i prefer MX4, it will get you 2 or 3 seats if you want it, I can post it to ya for nothing.

Hi DSN thanks for the offer, thing is OcUk forgot to send my AS5 yesterday i'm just thinking is it worth taking off the CPU fan and putting on the AS5 or just sticking with what temps i have ?

and just getting OcUk to refund the difference

Your temps are fine. Stop worrying and enjoy your new CPU.

Your temps are good. I get 30C idle 48 -50C after 10 mins on prime. I also use the akasa venom but with arctic silver 5. So.. I shouldn't bother repasting if I were you.
