2500m whats yours running at?

not a problem getting some nice clocks out of the Barton 2500M chips,. as long as you have a good board and RAM to back it up. Currently running mine at 210 * 11. Can push FSB to about 235 if i wanted to, but not pushing it too much at the moment (NF7-S v2, 1GB Geil 3200 RAM)

1.7v will usually get you 2.4ghz

I've had 4 to play with and they all managed 2.4ghz with 1.7v or less

Only tried finding the max on 1 and that hit 2.64ghz on air, 2.8ghz on water

got the fsb up to 210 before it became unstable (tried upping the volts to 2.8 but no joy)

CPU blue screens on multiplyer 11 though with 1.7v......:( 10.5 seems ok...

try different combos of multi and fsb

I thought limit of my XP2500m was 2.6ghz 200x13

I tried getting further with a x13 multi and always had problems, after playing around though I discovered it was just a problem with the x13 and x13.5 multis!

after playing with a few configs I managed these:

240x11 2.646ghz
230x12 2.766ghz
202x14 2.838ghz

that was with a Abit NF7-S :)

what motherboard do you have, and does it have a AGP lock?

I have a nf7 v2.0...

not sure about agp lock, it does always say the agp bus is 66 though....

try setting AGP to 67, sometimes the default doesnt work.

your chip does seem to be hitting a wall a bit early, you may want to consider a modded bios like D26 Mantaray.

When you up the FSB and get a bluescreen try loosening the memory timings.

If it blue screens again then run the memory on a divider and try again.

to test stability run 8meg superpi when u are in windows as a quick test.

when u find a clock u are happy with run 32meg superpi, and a overnight prime95.

PS: Try 210x11

edit: what powersupply do you have, and what voltages/temperatures is it showing in windows, load and idle?

Thanks....will try the agp at 67....

I thoughti t was far too early for it to be giving up....cpu runs at 50 when in windows, has an artic cooler on it...

is the d26 mataray bios much better then (increase in stability)?

The memory settings are on optimal rather than turbo or aggresive....3-3-3-8

edit:210 x 11 just gives me a blue screen....thats with volts at 1.7 and 2.8

psu is a akasa 400w.....I only have one hd etc.....6600gt gfdx card

cheers

50c is a bit high for idle speeds in windows, try refitting your heatsink as ideally you want to keep your load temperature under 55c

which model artic is it?

not sure of model as it was bought 2nd hand......tis big though.....

CPu temp goes up to 53 after 5 mins gaming......fan runs at 4200rpm

as I said above then mate, try refitting it 55c load is what you're aiming for

did you use paste or a pad when you fitted it before?

also try tidying cabling inside your case (if you havent done so) so you get decent airflow.

if it doesn't help your temps then I'm afraid your only real choice is to get a better cooler.

strange...

210x10 works
200x11 works
210x11 fails with a blue screen during boot up////

in terms of refitting the cpu there onyl really seems to be one way it can go on.....

also shifted it from side of desk and now runs at 47...

just one quick question about fans? does it matter which way up they go on....one Ive removed off my previous chip had dust on the rotars face down, one ive been sent all the dust was on the ortars facing up...
