A recent thread about using 64 GB RAM got me to check and I found that many motherboards - particularly AM5 - now support 256 GB RAM. I expect content creators will be delighted, but has anyone actually tried it?

I looked on MSI's website and saw that although their AM5 boards say they support 256 GB, there are no 256 GB kits (or even 64 GB sticks) listed as compatible.

I'm not interested in getting 256 GB myself but I'm sure there are some here who will be.

Not tried it yet. But aiming for them when they become available - and been waiting for them forever since news first broke out about them nearly a year ago. But I'm more in the content creator category so I have viable uses for that capacity.

Currently have 128GB (back when it was first released that was highest capacity you could get back in late 2022) with some used as a Ramdrive as needed (image, video and AI work I'm testing or helping on - especially the iterative stuff from AI where lots of writes happen).
