2560x1600 280GTX SLI question.

This question could be simple or very complex.

How long do you think my GTX280 SLI will be able to max games @ 2560x1600? (looking for answer in time 4 months 8 months etc)

im thinking of replacing my 2xHPLP2475w with 30" Dell..

im not talking crysis here..

The Games i play are
Counterstrike Source
Empire Total War
COD4
Fifa 09
Left 4 Dead
TF2
Burnout Paradise


Games i like to play in future.
Counterstrike Source 2 (if ever made)
Total war 2
HL3 (if ever)
Fear 3?

By the time HL3 and a new CS come out 2x280 will be obsolete, because you're looking at years away here. HL2 ep3 aint even out yet.
But you should be fine for the rest of this year.

The games you do play now, i can easily max out at 2560x1600 with high AA and 16xAF on my 295.

There's nothing on the iminent horizon that should stress that setup. I'd say a year+.

Hoenstly? I don't think we shall see another freak of a game like Crysis for a little while. It's more cost effective for devs to make games run nicely for more people, and what with all the multiplatforms games being made to run on consoles, we won't be seeing anything too crazy.
