26 in monitor

I have just bought a 26 in monitor..it has a resolution of 1920x1200 and has hdmi conection to my pc....does this mean i will be able to view b/ray and hd dvd when i buy my player at christmas...

Yes, so long as your graphics card is HDCP enabled.

If you are on about a blu ray drive for your pc then you can play that over the monitor regardless of what connection you use, i have my pc with blu ray drive connected to my tv via a vga port and i watch blu rays fine over that.

If you mean a standalone blu ray player (the sort that sits under your tv) or even a ps3 then yes you will be able to connect it via the hdmi port on your new monitor.
